Monthly giving

Cystic fibrosis is the most common recessive genetic condition affecting Australians. The condition not only affects the lungs and pancreas, but also impacts other parts of the body. From birth a person with CF undergoes constant medical treatments and between 2 – 4 hours per day every day of physiotherapy to stay healthy.

Currently in Australia, every 4 days a baby is born with cystic fibrosis. Your monthly gift means we can meet the increasing demand for support and provide over 20 vital services to individuals living with CF as well as supporting their families and carers.

Every dollar helps. Together we can change lives.

Spencer, Teddy & Stanley's story

Liv and Mat welcomed twin boys Teddy and Stanley into their family. Their entrance into the world was traumatic, to say the least. Arriving prematurely and spending the first week of their lives in special care, Liv and Mat were already beside themselves with worry.

Five years previously, at six weeks old, their beautiful firstborn Spencer had been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. The couple had prepared themselves that there was a good chance the twins would be diagnosed too.

Teddy and Stanley were nine weeks and six days old by the time Liv picked up the phone to receive the heartbreaking news that the heel prick test was positive. Their world was torn apart in that single phone call. A sweat test to confirm the diagnosis followed and the impact was simply devastating for the family.

"We have received amazing support from Cystic Fibrosis Community Care. They have provided us with access to vital equipment, online support services, referrals and financial assistance, but most importantly hope for our future. With thanks to the donors who have funded this support, we feel less alone knowing there are people to talk to and who understand what we are saying"

Says Liv, mum to Teddy, Spencer and Stanley
